Mother and author Margaret Rooke once had the assumption that Dyslexia was something that happened to other families. Within a family that had always done well academically and with no history of Dyslexia, Margaret was shocked when she found some basic spelling mistakes in her daughter’s coursework.

As with most people new to Dyslexia, Margaret had some knowledge of the more prominent symptoms of dyslexia; reading, writing and spelling. What she knew less about was the emotional side of Dyslexia and how it can affect ones self-esteem. Seeing some of these traits within her own daughter, Margaret set about writing a book that would assure her that Dyslexia need not be a barrier to success. The resulting book is called ‘Creative, Successful, Dyslexic’ and features interviews from the likes of Richard Branson, Eddie Izzard, Sir Jackie Stewart OBE and 20 others.

Margaret pops into The Codpast studio to tell us about her book and its superstar collaborators.
